The Eighties!

One thing that I absolutely love is dressing my girls.  I wasn't so sure about the seventies and  eighties trend. A lot of bad things come to mind.  The higher the hair the closer to God, right?!?!  But I'm kind of loving it.  The color blocking, the stripes, the crochet. Gimme all of it! This is some of what I'm loving right now.

Pajama party

I have a serious pajama obsession around here.  I'm one of those people that changes into pajamas the second I get home.  I cant even get my girls to wear their jeans unless i do some serious bribing.  In honor of my love of comfort I'm putting together some of my favorites. These pajamas from hanna anderson.

And These also from hanna Anderson

These adorable ice cream jammies are perfect for summer

And don't worry. I will definitely  be putting together a li

The Barnyard Zoo

It's so fun to watch as my girls get excited about things.  I wait to see if these things pass or they become serious obsessions.  Lately Lucy has been loving all things pony.  Our drive to school takes us past a few stables and we wave hi to the horses everyday.  Followed by "Can we ride them, Pleeeeeaaaase."  I found a few places in the area that offer pony rides for little kids.  So we took the little girls to a barnyard zoo that has a petting zoo, all kinds of animals and, of course, pony rides.

Lucy literally galloped from one animal to the other petting as many as she could.  We saw cows, pigs, camels, skunks, porcupines, goats, bobcats, deer, foxes, and more.  When Lucy finished her pony ride she was so sad, she just stood there with her pouty lip.  And then, of course, we had to visit the playground!

Next time we will definitely get he long pony ride.  I foresee a lot more visits to the barn in my future.  Even as I sit here looking at the pictures I have been asked no less than 30 times if we can go today.  XO

GOING Bananas

I have been just itching for summer! This seems like it has been the longest winter ever, and the easy days of summer seem so far away. I'm loving anything that makes me feel like summer is here.  I found the most adorable banana cooler bag that I can't wait to use.  And this banana dress that has been in rotation for months already.  And I'm totally getting this and this for trips to the pool!  Here's to all the summer celebrations and long summer days! Toddler Tales

The girls are getting better at playing together lately.  They don't really fight yet so they are so cute to watch how they interact together.  Lucy gets such  kick out of grabbing Eva's hair or just pulling her down. Eva just yells "MOOOOOM, BAAAABY" and I run over and unclench Lucy's grasp.
Lucy loves any toy that Eva is playing with, so as soon as she sees Eva playing with something, she peers over to see what she has and immediately wants it.  Eva absolutely loves books, and Lucy loves to rip pages out of her books.  It's a good thing Eva is so easy going with Lucy or it would be cat fights all day.  I can already tell we're going to have trouble with Lucy.  If you take something away from her or turn her away from where she wants to be he screams and throws herself back into a full-blown tantrum.  God help us when she hits the terrible twos.
Lucy still doesn't sleep through the night so I'm stopping breastfeeding.  She doesn't really nurse during the day anyway, and she mainly uses me to pacify herself ALL night long.  I can only hope this helps because I am at my wits end without ant sleep.  I mean, come on, she is 14 months.  I need sleep.

Happy New Year

Well, what a new year it has been!  We have been so sick over here!!!  This nasty virus has definitely gotten the better of us.  My poor babies have been throwing up so much it has been so hard to watch. And to make matters worse our washing machine broke on day one of our little funfest over here.   If this is a sign of what this year has to come then I just might stay in bed until 2018.  I can say this has been a good lesson in patience.  Or at least a reminder of how little patience I have.  That is going to be my goal for this year.  Have  more patience.
This has really been a tough year for me.  And I probably say that every year.  Nothing worth having comes easy.  I need to appreciate the difficult times.  Be more present and aware of my role in this life I have built.  I love my little family more than anything and I want to enjoy every moment.  So with this fresh year (and a freshly disinfected house) we can focus on what's important, our family.

Christmas Bucket List

Well, Its a little over a week until Christmas.  Am I ready? Not even close.  I always have so much excitement all year long.  I put so much pressure on myself to get the most out of the holiday season that I barley get anything on my list done.  I cannot be the only one like this.  So, I decided to put together my Christmas List and get my act together.  Now that the older kids are on Christmas break we can focus on having fun and maybe get some of these things checked off my bucket list.
25.  Make and decorate sugar cookies.
24.  Visit with Santa.  There is the most nostalgic little Santa house near us, with the cutest Santa and Mrs. Clause.  I used to visit Santa here when I was a child.
23.  Make a Holiday playlist.
22.  Make fireplace s,mores and listen to Christmas music.
21.  Make hot chocolate and drive around looking at Christmas lights.
20.  Have a gingerbread house party with a best house contest.  The other day in the store I found gingerbread house accessories.  Total game changer!
19. Make an advent calendar.
18.  Donate toys and clothes to local charities.
17.  Write a letter to Santa.
16.  Read Christmas books.
15.  Go sledding.  We bought the girls the cutest little vintage sled.
14.  Watch as many Christmas movies as we can.
13.  Make a snowman.
12.  Have a family photo shoot in the snow.
11.  Go on a horse drawn sleigh ride.
10. Buy a new red nail polish.
9.  Have a white elephant gift exchange.
8.  Sneak a kiss under the mistletoe.
7.  Make the bed with Christmas sheets.
6.  Wear glitter everything.
5.  Buy new Christmas jammies fir the kids.
4.  Have a festive breakfast or brunch.
3.  Make paper snowflakes.
2. Make cookies for Santa.
1.  Put the kids to bed early on Christmas eve and shake jingle bells before they fall asleep, like Santa has arrived and is delivering our presents.
